These Are Your People

These Are Your People

Some people when they hear your story
contract.
Others upon hearing your story
expand.
And that is how you know.
- Nayyirah Waheed

Healing work can be lonely work.
Keep telling your story.

Vulnerability might make you feel like you’re too much.
Keep telling your story.

Self-doubt will whisper that you’re just attention-seeking.
Keep telling your story.

You won’t be for everyone and might even make some uncomfortable.
Keep telling your story.

Some people will look away from the messy parts.
Keep telling your story.

You might wonder if you are shouting into the void.
Keep telling your story.

Because slowly, you will find others.
They will see the light and come towards it.

You’ll find the ones who expand when you share your story.
The ones who whisper “yes” — because they feel it too.

These are your people.
Your healing tribe.
And finding them is everything.

So please, for all that is good in this world:
Keep telling your story.

There are people who need to hear the things only you can say.

Writing Prompt:

Think of a moment when you shared something personal. Who listened? Who looked away? What did their response teach you about belonging?
