Some Room In Your Heart

Some Room In Your Heart

Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable.

- Mary Oliver

Look, nothing is set in stone.

Your foregone conclusion is not a truth.

When you take the present circumstances and extrapolate them out five or even ten years, it’s an exercise in futility.

Change is the only constant. Nothing will look the same as it does now, and it’s highly unlikely it will look the way we predict.

So stop telling yourself you know exactly how this is going to go.

Life is not out to get you. There is no grand plan to keep you stuck or lost in confusion.

Instead of imagining pain or heartbreak, just imagine the sun on your face, the wind in your hair, a warm smile on your lips, and a feeling that everything is right in the world.

Stop letting your fears guide your flow. Instead, lead with an unstoppable optimism that you are loved, always have been, always will be, for a million tiny and not-so-tiny reasons.

These are notes to myself, but if it resonates with you, dear friend, just know: you are not alone in this crazy world.

Let’s promise each other to keep our hearts open to a multiverse of beautiful possibilities, ones we never saw coming, ones so good they make our toes curl.

Because life is magical, and some of that magic is meant for you too.

Even if it’s never felt like yours before. Even if you feel like you don’t deserve it. Even if it feels impossible because of where you are right now.

You have to leave some hope in the wildest parts of your heart so magic can find you there.

Writing Prompt:

If you could let go of the belief that your path is already written, what wild and beautiful possibilities would you make space for?
